Stratocaster vs ES335
What’s the difference between a Strat and a 335? Well, this is not a tough question and I’m not supposed to ask this because it is stupid to compare the difference between the two because they are two completely different guitars. But most ordinary folks can’t tell the difference. So for the benefit of everyone who doesn’t know anything about it, is could elaborate the significant differences between the two worlds – famous guitars made by two worlds – renowned guitar makers who both pioneered the evolution of solid – bodied guitars. Makers of the two most popular guitar in the whole world, the Fender Stratocaster and the Gibson Les Paul; both has their own specs and stuff to brag about.
First, the looks. The Gibson ES 335 is a semi – hollow guitar, meaning, the body is part hollow (mostly on the sides) and part solid. The Fender Stratocaster is a solid bodied guitar. Both have double cutaways. The Fender Stratocaster uses three single coils and 5 way pickup selectors while the Gibson ES335 uses 2 Humbuckers and a three way pick up selector. Regarding the tonal quality, The 335 gives off a warm and thick guitar tone because of the wood it uses while the Strat gives of a clean and warm tone due to the alder body and the single coils.
